Health & Wellbeing Services

We are a walk-in hub dedicated to health and wellbeing awareness. Achieving better health often requires some support, whether increasing physical activity, quitting smoking, connecting with the community or seeking assistance with stressful matters like finances, unemployment, grief, or even family issues.

The Fountain Health and Wellbeing Service collaborates with the Council and the community to raise health awareness and guide individuals toward the right health and mental well-being resources.

Our services include basic health promotion, physical observations (blood pressure, pulse reading, weighing), and partnering with communities to develop and implement community-based health awareness projects that enhance overall well-being.

In addition, our services include:

  • Signposting for shelter/housing and other support

  • Free internet and scan services

  • Job training and placement services

  • Counselling, psychotherapy and bereavement counselling

  • Counselling support services; substance abuse, domestic abuse, loneliness, stress and other emotional and mental health-related issues

  • Basic health checks and in-house nursing services to day centre clients in partnership with local health institutions and the Council

The Youth Academy

Since 2007, the Fountain Youth Academy has been dedicated to serving individuals aged 10 to 21. Our doors are open to all young people, embracing diversity in gender, sexuality, disability, culture, and religion. Our overarching philosophy is centred on promoting the welfare of young individuals, aiming to empower each person with the skills and confidence to make positive life choices. Our services include:

  • Seminars, workshops, and life empowerment programs

  • Awareness programs on reducing gun and knife crime involvement (Weapon Amnesty), domestic violence and gang culture (in partnership with Police)

  • Youth-focused outdoor extracurricular activities

  • Structured mentorship and coaching programs

  • Addressing Anti-social behaviour amongst the youngsters

The Elderly Club

Social isolation is a prevalent concern impacting numerous elderly individuals in the UK. Joining the Elderly Club and engaging in its activities provides a positive avenue for alleviating loneliness by fostering interaction with others.

Our focus is on ensuring that elderly individuals, particularly those living alone, remain socially connected and lead active lives to enhance their well-being. However, staying social can be challenging for those living alone or with limited mobility. The Elderly Club serves as a welcoming space to reunite with old friends, forge new connections, brush up on existing skills, or explore new interests.

Tea Club

The Elderly Club stands as a vital support for individuals in our community, providing a welcoming social environment for tea, snacks, and companionship. Various engaging activities are often available to participate in. Additionally, the Elderly Club team extends its care to those who are homebound, offering companionship and assistance in the comfort of their homes.
